Last night’s e-mail #2 on Averill School alleged gang incident

In this e-mail, Melissa Quon-Huber of the Averill Woods Neighborhood Association gives an update about police response to the incident.  She also gives suggestions for residents of this southwest side Lansing neighborhood.

Neighborhood leader keeps Averill Woods residents informed about “gang fight”

Neighbors in Lansing’s (MI) southwest side Averill Woods used e-mail last night to keep each other informed about suspected gang activity. This is the first e-mail sent to more than 70 neighbors after 11 pm last night to alert them to a potential danger.

In the second e-mail, Melissa Quon-Huber shares police response and other details to residents of our area. The e-mail said

Subject: ALERT: Police on way to Averill Elementary for another “gang” fight 11:15 p.m. Tuesday

I just received word that another incident is occurring similar to a few weeks ago.

Last time the “criminals” fanned through the neighborhood when the police arrived so please be on the alert.

The police were called but have not yet arrived.

So watch for activity in the next while if you happen to be in email now.

Please let me know if you want to receive phone calls at this late hour when such incidents occur. I know most of you won’t get this email until much later.

This is part of what we have to figure out for our neighborhood watch.

Be safe everyone.

Thanks,
Melissa
